How do payment links work?

Created by Kronos Support, Modified on Sun, 3 May at 3:51 PM by Kronos Support

Payment links let you create a shareable URL that anyone — even people without a Kronos account — can use to send you money. Useful for invoicing freelance clients, splitting rent with non-Kronos roommates, or accepting tips.

How to create a payment link

  1. Go to Receive → Create Payment Link
  2. Enter the amount (or leave blank for an open-amount link)
  3. Add an optional note (e.g., "Logo design — June")
  4. Tap Generate link
  5. Share the link via text, email, or anywhere

Anyone with the link can pay using a debit card. Funds land in your Kronos wallet typically within minutes after the card authorization clears.

Fees

  • 3.5% + $0.30 per payment — charged by our card processor, not by Kronos. We do not profit from this fee.
  • The fee is deducted from the payment so you receive the net amount

Link options

  • Fixed amount — payer cannot change the amount
  • Open amount — payer chooses how much to send
  • Single use — link expires after one successful payment
  • Reusable — link can be paid multiple times until you deactivate it

Manage your payment links

See all your active links and payment history in Receive → My Payment Links. You can deactivate any link at any time — the URL becomes invalid immediately.

Powered by Astra

Payment links are processed by Astra, a regulated US ACH and card-acquiring partner. They handle PCI compliance, fraud screening, and chargeback management.
