How do QR codes work for paying and receiving?

QR codes are the fastest way to pay or get paid in person — no typing tags, no spelling someone's email.

To receive (your QR code)

  1. From the Home screen tap Receive
  2. Your unique QR code appears at the top — it encodes your Kronos Tag
  3. The other person scans it with their Kronos app and enters the amount

You can also display this QR code at a market stall, sidewalk gig, or counter — anyone with the Kronos app can scan it and send.

To pay (scanning someone else's code)

  1. Tap Send → Scan QR
  2. Point your camera at the other person's QR
  3. Confirm their handle, enter the amount, send

Crypto QR codes

The same Receive flow works for crypto. In the Crypto tab, tap any coin → Receive to get a QR encoding your wallet address (and memo if applicable). The sender scans it from their wallet to send the right amount to the right address — eliminating typos that could cost real money.

Don't share screenshots of QR codes for crypto deposits

For dollar transfers (Kronos Tag QR) it's fine. For crypto deposits, screenshots can be misused — always show the QR live from the app so the recipient knows it's current.
