What is dual verification?

Dual verification is an extra security layer for high-value or sensitive actions on your Kronos account. When triggered, you'll be asked to confirm via two separate channels — for example, a code sent to your phone and a confirmation tap in your registered email.

When dual verify is required

  • Sending more than $1,000 in a single P2P transfer
  • Withdrawing more than $5,000 to a linked bank in a single transaction
  • Adding or changing a linked external bank account
  • Changing your registered phone or email
  • Disabling 2FA
  • Deleting your account
  • Crypto withdrawals over $2,500 in 24 hours
  • Logging in from a new device

How it works

  1. You initiate the action
  2. Kronos sends a code to your phone (SMS or authenticator app)
  3. Kronos also sends a confirmation link or code to your registered email
  4. You enter the SMS code AND tap the email link / enter the email code
  5. Action proceeds

Both factors must match within a 10-minute window. If either expires, you start over.

What if I lose access to one of my channels?

Dual verify is intentionally hard to bypass — that's the point. If you genuinely lost access to your email or phone:

  1. Contact support at support@getkronos.io from any address
  2. We'll guide you through manual identity verification (ID upload + selfie + identity questions)
  3. Once verified manually, we'll reset the lost channel

This process can take 1–3 business days for security review. Plan ahead if you're changing phone numbers — update the registered number in Settings before you lose access to the old one.

Disable dual verify?

Dual verify cannot be turned off — it's a regulatory requirement for high-value transactions on regulated financial accounts. You can reduce how often it triggers by keeping the same trusted device, network, and phone number over time, since trusted-context signals reduce additional friction.
