How do I link my external bank account?

Linking an external bank account lets you move money between Kronos and your other banks, qualifies you for cash advances, and lets Kronos detect your gig earnings automatically.

How to link a bank

  1. Go to Profile → Linked Bank Accounts and tap + Link a bank
  2. Search for your bank (Chase, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, credit unions, neobanks — 12,000+ supported)
  3. Sign in with your bank's credentials in the secure Plaid popup. Your credentials are sent directly to Plaid — Kronos never sees your bank password.
  4. Confirm the account you want to link
  5. Done — usually takes under 30 seconds

Why Plaid?

Kronos uses Plaid to connect to your bank because it's the industry standard for secure bank linking. Plaid does not store your bank credentials and only shares the data Kronos needs (account balance, transactions for gig detection, account/routing for transfers). You can revoke Kronos's access at any time from Plaid's user portal.

What linked banks unlock

  • Cash advance eligibility — we underwrite advances based on verified gig deposits in your linked account
  • Gig earnings detection — Kronos scans your linked bank for deposits from Uber, DoorDash, Lyft, Instacart, GrubHub, Amazon Flex, Shipt, and Walmart Spark, and shows them on your Earnings dashboard
  • ACH transfers in — pull money from your linked bank into Kronos on demand
  • Withdrawals out — send your Kronos balance back to your linked bank when you need it
  • Repayment of advances — repaid automatically from the linked bank on your selected date

How many banks can I link?

Up to 3 external accounts at once. Most users link a primary checking account; some also link a savings or credit-union account. You can swap which is the default in Profile → Linked Bank Accounts.

How to unlink a bank

  1. Go to Profile → Linked Bank Accounts
  2. Tap the bank you want to remove
  3. Tap Unlink and confirm

Unlinking immediately stops gig detection and disables advance eligibility tied to that account. Any pending or scheduled transfers will be cancelled.

Bank not showing up?

Plaid covers 12,000+ US banks and credit unions. If yours doesn't appear, it's likely a small institution Plaid hasn't onboarded yet. Email support@getkronos.io with your bank's name and we'll pass the request to Plaid.

Connection broke?

If a bank shows "connection lost" — usually because your bank changed its login flow or you reset your password — go to Profile → Linked Bank Accounts → [bank] → Reconnect and re-authenticate through Plaid. Takes 30 seconds.
