How does Kronos track my gig earnings?

Created by Kronos Support, Modified on Sun, 3 May at 3:51 PM by Kronos Support

Kronos automatically detects deposits from gig platforms in your linked bank account and shows them on your Earnings dashboard — so you can see what you've made across every platform without juggling multiple driver apps.

Supported gig platforms

Out of the box, Kronos detects deposits from:

  • Uber and Uber Eats
  • DoorDash
  • Lyft
  • Instacart
  • GrubHub
  • Amazon Flex
  • Shipt
  • Walmart Spark

If you drive for a platform we haven't built in yet (TaskRabbit, Postmates, Favor, Wonolo, Gopuff, etc.), you can add it as a Custom Gig. See below.

How detection works

  1. Link your primary bank account (the one your gig earnings get deposited to) — see How do I link my external bank account?
  2. Kronos scans incoming ACH and direct-deposit transactions on your linked account
  3. When a deposit matches a known gig platform's transaction descriptor, it's tagged automatically and added to your Earnings tab
  4. Earnings are categorized by platform, date, and net amount (after platform deductions like fuel reimbursements or fees)

Add a custom gig platform

  1. Go to Earnings → Add Custom Gig
  2. Enter a Gig Name (e.g., "TaskRabbit")
  3. Enter a Keyword that appears in your bank statement when this platform pays you (e.g., "TASKRABBIT" or "TR PAYMENT")
  4. Save — future deposits matching that keyword will be tagged to this gig

Tip: open your bank statement and look at the descriptor of a recent payout from that platform — that's the keyword to enter.

What you can do with detected earnings

  • See your real income — across every platform, in one place, no Excel needed
  • Set aside taxes automatically — turn on tax buckets to auto-route a percentage to a tax-savings position. See tax buckets article
  • Qualify for cash advances — verified deposit history from gig platforms underwrites your advance limit
  • 1099 prep — at year-end, export a CSV with platform totals broken out, ready for Schedule C

Privacy and what we store

Kronos only stores the metadata needed to categorize gig deposits — date, amount, platform tag. We do not store other transactions in your linked bank, do not sell your data, and do not use it for marketing. You can revoke linked-bank access from Plaid's portal anytime.

Wrong platform tagged?

If a deposit got tagged incorrectly (e.g., a personal Venmo from your friend got tagged as a gig payout), tap the transaction → Reclassify to fix it. The system learns from your corrections over time.
